HARDING - PARR ALASKA ADVENTURE 2000
Glenn and Kiki Harding had heard stories for years about Alaska and the Yukon, about their mystique and history. Planning their second trip to this area in August 2000, they never dreamed what excitement lay in store for them, and the magic that was waiting for them in the vastness of this undeveloped country that is only 1 percent privately owned. Glenn depicts with his camera a territory totally different from the lower 48 states, a land closed to visitors during the harsh winter months and stunningly beautiful at all times.
Kiki and Glenn Harding, with his sister Dorothy, and her husband Bob Parr
invite you to share their vacation pictures.
On August 11, 2000 they traveled with World Wide Country Tours of Greendale, Wisconsin on an Alaska and Yukon Adventure covering 3484 miles from Seattle by cruise ship, narrow gauge railway, bus land cruiser, McKinley Explorer Train and airline. Their search for gold took them up the Chilkoot Trail of 1897, and up the Alcan Highway, and up to the Arctic Circle on the Yukon River. Then they went to see the elusive Mount McKinley (Denali). It seldom casts off its shroud of clouds and so they missed seeing the tallest mountain on the North American Continent. Then they traveled by train to Anchorage, flew to Seattle and went by catamaran ferry to Victoria, B.C. , Canada.
Come along with them and enjoy the beautiful scenery
and memorable moments.
